Basil Morgan is an Immortal who appears mouse-faced and skinny as a rail.
Biography
Basil lived the majority of his life as a thief, until he was caught and hung for his crimes. Afterward, he was trained by William Kingsley to hone his Immortality.
Over the years, Basil became a fencer, earning his living as a receiver of stolen goods, and through this occupation, he met Amanda, whom he described as "old friend." Lucy Becker, however, said, "we hate Basil, he's a self righteous goniff."
Reborn
In 1998, after Amanda's regular fence, "Cash and Carry" Harry, had been murdered, and she was framed for the murder, Basil learned firsthand of the murderer through a break-in at his own shop, when he was himself shot down after attempting to take out his assailant, Stanley Ferris, with his sword.
It was then Basil who was called upon to bail Amanda out after her arrest on suspicion of murder. He was very uncomfortable to be in a building with so many cops in one room. He did however recognize the voice of the detective who had robbed and shot him, and therefore the man who had framed Amanda.
Birthright
Amanda accused him of burning down his own business to collect the insurance. He maintained it was a "tragic accident." She contacted him to find out about the theft of antiquities from the 18th century shipwreck, Maria Rose. When he refused to help, she 'dropped' a Tiffany lamp, and juggled with a Waterford crystal vase until he agreed to do as she asked.
Just before Basil wanted to go off on holiday, Amanda came to him and offered him a picture she had stolen from the home of industrialist. Basil was inspired by the etching and bought it from Amanda. He later sold to a customer with "the face of a weasel and a desperate wallet", who turned out to be Bert Myers.
Passion Play

Afterwards, Basil informed Amanda about this business.
Fighting Style
Basil was never seen fighting on screen. He was shown to have possession of a rather substantial sword cane, but it was unclear if it was his main weapon.
